The hubby and I took a little ride to check out the umbrellas in Louisville, OH the other day. I saw this place in a Facebook group I’m in and had to go check it out. It was only an hour-ish away, very pretty!
Happy Sunday from Dexter and I! 😃
I got this Money tree a few months back, and it’s doing spectacular!! The pumpkin man is homemade from an old neighbor of ours. They made awesome crafts!! I hope everyone is doing well! We’ve been having unseasonably warm weather here in Ohio, and enjoying it, lol. Have a great weekend!!
I finally got the Friends Apartments done, it took me a little time to finish, it had almost 3,000 pieces!
My girls and I were out and about today and stumbled upon some cool artwork!
I’ve been wanting to check out the Field of Corn in Dublin, OH for quite some time, and finally made it there. It’s a field of 109, 6 ft tall concrete corn sculptures in honor of Ohio’s agricultural history of corn.
I got some inflatables this year! 😃
I’m slacking on blogging, I guess life gets busy and it’s the last thing I think about. Maybe I should make use of the blogging reminder feature on here 🤔🙃 Today was a beautiful day, the family and I went for a hike at Mt. Gilead State Park. It’s a beautiful park, we go there every now and then for a change of scenery from our normal hiking spots.
I hope everyone is doing well!! 😃
The family and I went for a walk today around the reservoir in a nearby town. The weather was perfect!
Some cool clouds this evening after the stormy day we had.
A cool little sunflower patch nearby, it’s 2 acres and this is the first year for it. The sunflowers are small, but they’re still very pretty!!
I found a ripe tomato this morning! It’s a cherry tomato, but I’ll take it!! Lol. The bigger tomatoes are still pretty green, which is normal 🤪
My bell peppers are really starting to take off! The pepper plants overall didn’t fairly well. The carrots are also doing fantastic!!
The zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers are pretty much done. The broccoli is growing extremely slow, but still looks like it has potential. I’ve given up on the green beans 😂🙃
This was in the gift shop at Kingwood Center. It’s a garden apron, I almost bought it, but couldn’t justify the need for it 🤣😂😜🤪🙃
I visited a local attraction today, Kingwood Center Gardens, it’s a 47 acre estate of a prominent business man from the area. It includes a mansion where he lived, which is open to the public and has original furnishings inside. There’s also a greenhouse on the property and some other small buildings. When the owner died, he left the estate to the city to be open to the public to enjoy the beautiful flower gardens and the property.
These are all of the flowers I planted around my house this Summer. Petunias, my favorite! I always have to keep them in containers, or they don’t do well. Impatients, these have always been hit and miss with me, one year they do great, the next year, not so much. 😬🙃 Begonias, they look spectacular!! When we moved in last year the lady had the same red Begonias planted in that very spot, and they were beautiful! This was the end of September, so by then they were huge. I decided then that I was going to plant them again in the Spring, I have not been disappointed! Then there’s the false goats beard I brought from the previous house I lived at. This has become another favorite of mine. I didn’t know it existed until I moved to that house. It starts out as a pretty green spreading plant, then flowers these beautiful purple flowers. I also brought a good start of a purple cone flower, which is doing well, just didn’t produce any flowers, maybe it still will. I planted sunflower seeds, but the flippin chipmunks ate them when they were little, tender seedlings 🌱😡🙃
I finally made time today to put together my Adidas Lego shoe, and it turned out awesome!! 😍😃
I also got a free Adidas mini shoe with my Lego purchase. 😁🤪
I hope everyone out there has had a good week! Any cool plans for the weekend? My family and I are going to go check out the local flea market tomorrow. It’s the last weekend of every month, you never know what you might find! Last month I found a cool Garfield pin from the early 2000s, he’s definitely one of my favorite characters from my childhood. Very fitting for this post with Garfield 🤪
After days of cool weather and clouds, the sun was finally able to get through, today felt like Summer! 😃 Those pink things are hibiscus flowers 🌺🙃
My hubby and I bought a house last Fall, so this is my first Summer here. There is quite the collection of Day Lilies around the yard. I didn’t realize they came in so many different colors.
There is also lots of hibiscus, roses, himalayan cranes bill, and a hydrangea bush.
I love to garden, I’ve been doing it since I was a kid. It started out with flowers, and evolved to fruits and veggies. I’ve got a greenhouse to start my seeds in, it went fairly well, but needs to be moved to a better spot. I’ve got that figured out by the way, lol. I didn’t get the greenhouse up soon enough this year to get peppers and tomatoes started, we moved and I couldn’t figure out where to put it, but I was able to start squash, zucchini, and cucumbers, they don’t need as long to get going. I got my other plants at a local garden store. My garden was a couple of weeks late getting in the ground, but it’s doing well! A little slow growing, but the weather has been rainy, cool, and crappy. Here’s the current situation…
I’ve also got some broccoli, carrots, and green beans growing. The green beans are looking rough, I never have luck with them!! Next year I want to add some potatoes and strawberries.
I’ll start with Dexter the boxer. He’ll be 2 on August 31st. We got him at 8 weeks. He is the most loving dog ever!! He’s the second boxer we’ve had. We had a boxer named Buster who lived to be 12.
Then there’s Muffy, the three legged cat. He used to be an outside cat many years ago, but got hit by a car, it shattered his back leg, and it had to be amputated. He’s now 8 years old living his best indoor life!
Next is the chickens, they are Rhode Island Reds. We got them last Spring, started out with 6, but half of the flock didn’t make it. So we have three, Spicy, Birdie, and Queenie, my oldest Danielle can tell them all apart, I cannot. They lay on average 2 eggs per day.
Then we have the ducks, our newest additions. We’ve had them for almost a month now, they’re Pekin ducks. I never knew ducks could be so cute and entertaining! I’m not sure of their sex, we’ll see as they get older, hopefully we lucked out and got two females. Fingers crossed!!
